Zoo Frankfurt - 449 different types of animals

From the 3 mm small leafcutter ant to the 5 m long giraffe – animals from around the globe live on 11 hectares (about 27 acres) in our zoo.

Zum Senckenberg Museum

The 15 permanent exhibitions mainly show the evolution of animals from the dinosaurs to the present day. There are also special exhibitions.

Main Tower (observation platform)

With a height of 200 meters, the Main Tower is the fourth-highest skyscraper in Frankfurt. The view of Frankfurt from the observation platform is phantastic.

Dialog Museum

Dialog in the Dark – An exhibition to discover the invisible. Blind or visually impaired experts guide visitors through a lightless sequence of rooms with changing themes.

Eiserner Steg (iron footbridge) 

The Eiserner Steg (iron footbridge) connect the old town of Frankfurt with the Sachsenhausen district. It offers a beautiful vista onto the Main river and the Frankfurt skyline.

Grüneburgpark

Feeling like a walk in nature?

The 29 hectare Grüneburgpark is situated between the Palmengarten (palm garden) and Botanical Garden and is ideal for a leisurely walk or a nice run.

Bethmannpark

Hidden behind thick walls from the hectic big city traffic, this oasis is located in the former garden area of the banking family Bethmann. A particular jewel is the Chinese garden.

Palmengarten

In the 22 hectare Palmengarten (palm garden), visitors can admire plants from all over the world, varying exhibitions, guided thematic tours and music events. It is one of the largest botanical gardens in Germany.
